In 1998, she decided to start her own practice—Family Member Animal Hospital. As the name implies, the clinic is centered around caring for the family.
Dr. Gunckel prides herself in her friendly, compassionate bedside manner. Dr. Gunckel's special interests also include small animal surgery and equine medicine.
Dr. Gunckel’s husband, John, and their two children, J.J. (17) and Ashley (14), along with their yellow Labrador Retrievers, Standard Poodles, cats, and seven horses make up her loving family. On her time off, she enjoys swimming, hiking, camping, showing dogs and judging and competing in competitive trail-riding with her children.
